it was yellow, but I changed the color of it. It's not a ladybug; I couldn't tell what the heck it was.

they can be yellow? I didn't know that! Maybe it was, then. I'm no good with my insect classification, obviously ;)

Yes. Here's a photo: [link] There's a lot of variety in colors and spots (and number of spots) and some have no spots (I just recently took a photo of one in my yard without spots which I might upload) and all the varieties have different names. Wiki says there are about 150 different species in the United States alone!

I didn't know either. I just learned all of this a couple of months ago. :)
