It always pays to be in the right place at the right time. A mix of great fog, great lighting, and no wind help to beautifully conduct the surreal environment found in this piece. The mix of the yellow, blue, and green tones all work together nicely; the still water reflects said colors in away that is delicate, present, yet not overbearing; and the composition is dead on, exhibiting both symmetry as well as the rule of thirds. In its entirety, industrial future stands reminiscent of Gotham city, eerily quiet and still, with not an ounce of life in sight. It's a picture about emptiness, about the sort of place humanity will find itself if it does not remedy its mistakes; yet at the same time it doesn't feel overly-apocalyptic, and in that sense there is great hope.
